My Sustainable Content System for ThreadsTwo months ago, I jumped into Threads with both feet and the results have been incredible. In just this short time, I’ve grown from zero to over 9,000 followers. But that growth came with a cost that wasn’t sustainable long-term. Today, I’m sharing the content system that I’ve been using over the past 3 weeks. It’s still a work in progress, but it has already helped me maintain consistent growth while reclaiming my evenings and weekends. The Unsustainable BeginningWhen I first started on Threads, I was obsessed with creating content. My typical day looked like this: This approach worked and I saw rapid follower growth, especially after one post about my minimal iPhone setup went viral and took me from 70 to 2,000 followers overnight. But between maintaining my freelance design business, moving into a new apartment, and working long hours on content creation, I needed a better system. The Content Repurposing FrameworkAfter experimenting for several weeks, I’ve developed a content strategy that has allowed me to: Here’s exactly how it works: Step 1: Blog post (Monday, 1-1.5 hours)Instead of brainstorming new content ideas daily, I now start each week by writing one in-depth blog post on a specific topic. This becomes my content foundation for the entire week. For example, last week I created a comprehensive guide to my one-page iPhone setup. The blog post detailed my simple system for keeping everything within a single page while maximizing functionality and efficiency. Step 2: Newsletter Creation (Monday, 30-45 minutes)After completing the blog post, I prepare my newsletter, which includes: This gives me three distinct content buckets to draw from throughout the week. Step 3: Content Extraction (Tuesday, 2-3 hours)This is where the magic happens. I extract content from both my blog post and newsletter. From these sources combined, I typically extract: For my one-page iPhone setup post, I created: Each format reaches different audience segments and triggers different engagement patterns. They might not all work, but the more post you do, the more likely one is to attract followers. Step 4: Strategic RepurposingI also look back at previous weeks’ analytics to identify 1-3 top-performing posts to repurpose. I typically repurpose posts that performed well previously and that I haven't shared in a while. I either repost it as they are or sometimes update them. Step 5: Scheduling & Light Daily EngagementOnce I’ve created and scheduled my content batch for the week, I spend about 30-45 minutes daily engaging with comments and conversations. This engagement is crucial. It builds community and often sparks ideas for future content. The AI AssistantAn important part of my system is a custom AI assistant that helps me: - Extract post ideas from my blog articles - Challenge my thinking and refine concepts - Provide structure for initial drafts I still heavily edit the AI output to maintain my authentic voice, but having this tool has significantly reduced the cognitive load of content creation. The AI doesn’t create for me. It helps me organize and refine my own ideas more efficiently. Results: By The NumbersHere are the results from the last week using this exact system. For the amount of effort it took me I feel like it's pretty rewarding. Is This System Perfect? Not yet. I’m still refining it to require even less time so I can focus more on creating digital products. Ideally, I’d like to plan content a month in advance rather than weekly. But compared to my initial approach of daily scrambling for content ideas and late-night creation sessions, this system has been transformative for both my Threads growth and my quality of life. Your TurnIf you’re struggling with content creation burnout while trying to grow on Threads, I hope this framework gives you a starting point for developing your own sustainable system.
